Movie Review: Men Too

Image
What Is It About? Three Friends Aditya (Naresh Agastya), Sanju (Kaushik Ghantasala), and Munna (Mourya Siddavaram) meet at an exclusive Menā€™s bar for a drink every day after work. They see all sorts of troubled men by women in the bar and one day, they see Rahul (Harsha Chemudu) who gets fired due to a sexual harassment case at his workplace. Whatā€™s his story and how it changed the lives of three friends is all about MenToo. Performances The story of MenToo is so weak that it does not really elevate any performance much. Mourya Siddavaram who acted as Munna did well among others. Naresh Agastya is an introvert but is shown as dull and a lost guy. Sudarshan is as usual. Harsha Chemudu did a completely different role from his regular genre and he is fine. Brahmaji is routine.   Newcomers led by Sumanth Prabhas get the carefree rural Telangana vibe right in the Telugu film ā€˜Mem Famousā€™, which shines in a few segments but falls short of being a roller coaster fun ride An adolescent character curiously named ā€˜lipstick spoilerā€™ Lokesh keeps harping on the importance of connecting with the youth. He knows that torn jeans are a fashion statement and that videos of charming rural love stories will pique the interest of smartphone users. The predominantly young cast and crew of the Telugu film Mem Famous, which introduces more than 40 newcomers to Telugu cinema, aims to nail this youthful vibe in the narrative. Sumanth Prabhas, debuting as actor, writer and director, narrates a coming-of-age story of three young men who go from being wastrels to finding purpose in their lives. It is a familiar story packed with old tropes, heavily relying on the lived-in depiction of the rural Telangana lifestyle to work its magic. And, Mem Famous succeeds partially. Mem Famous...
